I do have one story I'm currently reading that also has a super smart and talented mc that starts weak, but gets strong really quickly. The vibes are a total 180 though since the art style is completely different and the mc is kind, humble, and more gentile. Its called surviving as a genius on borrowed time. A personal recommendation from me for another murim story with great writing. The faction the mc is part of maintains true neutrality for everyone except the devil cult (Note the story calls the dark faction something else, so the devil cult is a totally separate entity), so they're pretty disliked until the mc comes along and unknowingly shocks them into being somewhat fond of him. His faction also maintains much higher authority than other factions, making them more of an organization than a faction. Anyway sorry for the wall of text, it just kinda feels like very few people read that one despite my opinion that it's really good. I'll search through my lists later to see if I can find another with a dangerously unhinged mc, but this stories kind of mc is incredibly rare (especially for a murim). I also disliked nano machine since i thought the mc was really annoying, so our tastes are pretty different.
