I think most people don't hate the whole manhwa rather they want the characters to get a bit of karma we naturally want to see people get what they deserve but as the thing are going it seems the author just wants to sympathy bait and use it as an excuse not to punish the dude but eh

You minimizing his backstory and thinking that it's sympathy bait shows that you know nothing about writing, what proof do you have that he's not going to grow and have a redemption act ? You must be quite young to think JJK is going to stay the exact same. Literacy is definitely a skill you should explore more because there's literally signs everywhere these past chapters that point to JJK suffering from his actions and future suffering as well.
