I think the author did a really good Job of creating a past that awakens certain deep emotions within the readers. Even tho his past is kind of “basic” its portrayed in a very realistic way! Most crime culprits get a milder sentence bcs of their psychological.. mental state. And in most of the cases certain actions or personality traits can be traced back to their childhood and for ex. The abuse, trauma or even wrong parenting can be the cause of it. I mean there is no excuse for JK wrong doings but now y’all can certainly understand WHY he may behave the way he does or his character in general. (google forensic sciences for better understanding)

Yeah but this isn't ANY different from any other boohoo sad backstory to explain away the MLs abuse. It's not really that deep at all. And that's coming from someone who's kryptonite is an actual villain with a sad backstory. He was abused, he became an abuser, despite working hard and making a champion of himself. Just like a bully, once he had the strength he displaced all of his anger. Likely, he's a sociopath, because he definitely has zero empathy for other people. His past doesn't help the story so far beyond trying to get sympathy for a monster, basically. If we felt HIS emotions as our own, if we felt unjustified and robbed of victory as he did when his dad was dead and didn't see him win, maybe. But I don't feel much for him, and I could be the minority here, idk. He had a choice, and he chose to become a raging asshole who was abusive and creepy (the sex w headphones in front of the actor).

This isn't about forgiving him but understanding him better. It's not that hard to understand.

His childhood get us to understand why he's like that. Thanks to that we understand why he acted like that towards. But no one, I repeat, no one is forgetting the sa. But we know now that he was an asshole bc he was projecting. He's the product of his environment.

And saying that child abuse isn't that deep is really really weird. A grown ass man beating his 6 yo son and emotionally abusing him isn't that "deep" ? Let's not even talk about the abandonment of his mother. Wow. I'm speechless.

Y'all got me defending this wigga when it's the last thing I want.

You can stop pretending you don't want to defend him while you're gagging to do it while trying to look smart and deep No, it's not deep. It's 98.8% of shit ML back stories.

    Youareastupidhoe August 4, 2025 10:56 pm

@TypeS I'm pretty neutral about this manwha But you saying that Child abuse isn't that deep triggered me.

Kim Dan being bullied as a kid = poor Dan
6 yo jaekyung being emotionally and physically abused = no sympathy

I'm sorry but your comment is truly disgusting and heartless. Even if it's fiction, a child abuse is deep. Same as SA. Y'all will get mad at Jaekyung for graping Dan but have no sympathy for his 6yo self getting abused by the one who was supposed to protect him.

Even if it's 98,8% of mls back stories, it still deep bc a grown adult has no business beating a 6 yo kid. No one is making excuses, we're trying to understand his ass shit behavior. And this one is well written bc we can see his childhood projecting on his present life

    You're weird.

i don’t like the way youre seeing things, nor your attitude towards this super friendly person that literally explained it in a very good way.

first of all, he can’t be a sociopath, or else he wouldn’t care to get dan sober finally, and he wouldn’t have cared when he thought dan killed himself

and you as someone who as an „actual“ (we shouldn’t compare trauma‘s.) trauma and a actual sad backstory (i’m just repeating your weird words.) you would then know that child abuse is a real bad thing and can change someone in a whole and some can never forget all of that or work on that.
child abuse is a serious thing. absolutely
all of the backstory and what happened to him isn’t a excuse, but more to understand his actions and why he’s the guy he’s now.

i don’t like that you talk down child abuse. you have (at least it seems like it) no empathy left when it comes to trauma, which actually seems kinda sick (in a bad way.) to me.

and me as someone who had to go through a lot of child abuse, mentally and physically in school and at home, i can say it is very deep and affects your life after all. every person reacts different to trauma
and only because you can live and move on doesn’t mean that everybody is like you.

    you’re hella weird.

I don't really care what you don't like with your vapid delusional ass. I'm a survivor of child abuse, making it a backstory for a fictional character ISN'T DEEP. Sorry you don't like it and have to pretend like you're a better person about it

Good job getting triggered all by yourself! I couldn't care less. It's not deep to give a FICTIONAL CHARACTER a child abuse backstory for sympathy, when that character grew up to be an abusive POS. It makes it look like everyone with a past like that becomes JK, and they sure don't. Don't care if you don't like that. You shared your opinion on the Internet, I shared mine.

@TypeS Does that mean that the fact he graped Dan isn't that deep ? Because that's literally what you're saying. Because it's a fictional story, so it's not that deep. You have compassion for a fictional character who got graped but you can't feel any compassion for a 6yo fictional character who got abused and abandoned. Oh yeah it makes so much sense. Wow.

@TypeS Use your head a minute. You shouldn't be reading this type of manwha if you're this immature. Not everyone with this kind of past grew up to be abusive but some people do. This isn't about excusing his actions but rather about understanding. How can you except from someone who never received any kind of love to show love ? There's a realistic depth to this character.

Your opinion is straight stupid and heartless.

Imp the sudden shift of their behavior is kind of weird like all of a sudden the fml does things she didn‘t do for 70chp. Everybody is saying he is OOC but actually SHE is more OOC… also wasn‘t she drunk while they did it? Their 1st time should be wholesome and after that should come all the drama… The author tried to be different so bad! And even is the 1T wasn’t gonna be wholesome it should habe been fiercy bcs of all that tension and builtup….

    Abysslicker May 6, 2025 10:51 am

Dont evennnnnnn T^T the whole S2 just feels so rushed that there was barely any tension between them from the start of the paris trip!! It wouldve been the best if the slow burn momentum kept going so the author can actually flesh out their feelings for eo like how S1 was done but!??? They rushed it!!! I totally agree w the spicy scene..couldve went wholesome or passionate but it wasnt handled very well…and everyones soo ooc ╥﹏╥
