for me the king did somehow showed a little interest to the princess this timeline but actually he basically didn't really put enough effort to it. like maybe he did showered her with gifts but he also know to himself that wouldn't be enough he just wish it was. the king maybe was learning to love his daughter but didn't put the outmost effort to it. well it was his character that he was raised grown and survive like that. even the prince wasn't really praised heart fully it's just a title of crowned prince bestowed and all the perks from other people. but basically both his children didn't get enough parental stuffs from him. maybe him retaining his memory from the past wouldn't even do much change in the current timeline (if it happened i mean) maybe he will even treat the princess worse than the first timeline. well just my opinion
