Why are you guys still arguing about the backstory. It's like I have to say the same thing every time:
First off let's get this straight: Jaekyung SA'ed Dan, and some moments can be classified as r*pe. Like that can't be argued, it's unforgivable, will never be erased, and won't be forgotten. Now, a lot of people are hating on his backstory. Just because Jaekyung is being shown as human, went through something horrible as a child like Dan, and just got a sad backstory doesn’t mean we’re being forced to forgive him. The author isn’t excusing what he did — they’re showing WHY he became this way, which gives CONTEXT, not a free pass. This is showing his roots not "oh no poor him let's forgive him." Redemption doesn’t erase harm, and Dan obviously doesn’t owe him forgiveness. But when someone is genuinely trying to change, that matters. And I know some of you may whine, but ANYONE can be a victim of a horrible environment. You don’t have to like him, but rooting against someone improving or saying "I don't care if he's changing" or "good" to him literally going through something no child should ever have to go through says more about us than them. Growth is painful, slow, and real — and people should be allowed to change without being trapped in who they used to be forever. And, this is a fictional story with little drawn people, it doesn't/shouldn't affect your day to day life.
