Yes, but pretending to be a dog, cat, or whatever really goes for doing tricks for your master, listening to them, maybe playing fetch (because there's also nonsexual petplay), some have pet beds, etc. Most of the pretending to be an animal goes with nonsexual petplay, while the sexual aspect is more like leashes, collars, bondage gear, obedience, discipline, etc.
