Guys I know it doesn't make sense for maxi to go to war because she can't even make a shield yet according to the manga.In the novel at this point of the story I believe she left Riftan for a year of so to go in the tower to study magic together with other mages and then she attended this journey/war(which makes more sense if she was trained).Also more spoilers Riftan wasn't very happy about it obviously,he felt hurt and abandoned so maxi had a really hard time getting close to him again ╥﹏╥
