I was infact sad that you guys had to go through this frustration and even tried to give a small suggestion since alot of scanlation teams ised placeholders to keep out bots uploads, if that’s not good then… ignore?? Proper translations make a world of difference and I appreciate the human effort that goes into this. I mean it when I see that wording and sentences are wonky, it turns me off from even the best stories.

Your work is appreciated. I hope the bad intentions of one individual doesn't paint how the rest of us feel about passionate translators.

Of course. They are misdirecting their anger at you guys, which just makes them look bad unfortunately, completely misreading your comments. Genuinely a placeholder will help them and will keep annoying extra uploader’s away, experiencing this now proves this is a good time to make one and start.

It’s unfortunate but thats just the norm now, especially when a lot of uploaders are actually just bots, and other scanlation teams have explained that placeholders stop the bots automatically uploading the chapters too. It isnt victim blaming in the slightest, people are trying to help and readers are usually always on the side of the og good quality translators unless they did something rude, weird and/or brash to warrant it.

Someone else uploading a chapter is NOT the readers fault and it is unfair to take out frustration on them as such.

I know they’re trying to help but what I’m saying is the issue isn’t that we didn’t use a placeholder, it’s that people aren’t patient. Placeholders wouldn’t have helped in this situation. A placeholder is usually used to stop bots uploading chapters. I’m this case a human being uploaded a chapter. A placeholder wouldn’t necessarily have stopped that.

I’m always being misread as rude, it’s pretty upsetting to come back to this site and find people calling me mean and rude and telling me not to take stuff out on people and I especially don’t like the thought that me being misinterpreted “makes the whole team look bad”.

My point was that the problem isn’t that we didn’t use a placeholder. That’s what I meant by victim blaming, it’s like if a woman is assaulted and people tell her she shouldn’t have worn a short skirt. The problem here is that this other uploader was impatient, and they didn’t contact us first. It wasn’t aimed at anyone in particular, it was aimed at anyone suggesting or thinking it, that’s why I didn’t specifically reply to anyone, I just posted it as a general reply so people would stop suggesting it, cause it’s not useful.

i absolutely get that, the thing is tho those things are not comparable. Women being assaulted and being blamed for what they wear is not something people are going to compare it to obviously because that is extreme and someone suggesting to make a placeholder so bots dont steal your place is not comparable to being raped and being told its because of what you wore. In a way i understand what you are trying to say, but the severity is just not comparable and equates people who are giving real suggestions to rape apologists. People uploading over eachother is unfortunately the nature of this site, the readers voice against it but at the end of the day the readers cant do anything but that. Especially when the uploader could very well be a bot.

What you said would absolutely come across the way it came across because of how you phrased it regardless of your intent. I understand how you said it probably came from strong and valid emotions, however nobody was victim blaming in the slightest and thats where the problem lies. It is not like the commenters can do anything else because they werent the ones who did it, other than suggest you guys to do what other scanlation teams are doing to help you guys prevent bots and people who ignorantly or rudely upload (yes they should come to you guys first of course),

whilst word for word saying “I’m sorry to hear that”. They are on your guys’s side from the beginning. If its not usefull (readers obviously think it will be because of other scanlators going through the same thing and adapting with placeholders) then just say that.
