Since the English translation hasn't reached there yet, this is based off of spoilers from those who read the original version. Apparently Maxi returns to her father's house at one point because of reasons (I won't say because there's MAJOR spoilers there). Ofc that piece of shit father starts hitting her again. Riftan goes to see her and walks in on the father abusing her and beats him nearly to death (too bad they stopped Riftan from actually killing him). Riftan and Maxi sit down and finally have a heart to heart where she tells him about everything. This apparently all happens at around 200+ chapters of the novel, and in the manhwa we're currently at around chapter 80+ so we've got a long way to go.
