This was enjoyable but if I sit down with myself and think about this book realistically its a hot mess I think if it was longer and there was better research into did it could do wonders for this. But it’s still a fun quick read so I’m not gonna complain too much
I read this years ago and never finished it and now I know why. My fist was clenched reading this whole story. I don’t want to be dramatic but it felt like back to back torture and it’s not like this is written poorly because it’s genuinely good. It’s just I want to know the author's intention when writing these characters bro like deadass objectively speaking how are you gonna spend more than half the book fleshing out a specific character and then leave him to dust for a character that doesn’t move anybody. He doesn’t even suck he’s just some dude. Like yeah he had his cute moments with the mc but in the end of the day when we essentially know nothing about the character not even a proper look into why he likes the mc there’s no good payoff. It comes off as rushed and not impactful. You know it’s bad when genuinely any other option including orange straight guy would make for an interesting couple. I feel like I wouldn’t be this pissed if the black hair had a proper conclusion. When you consider his backstory it just felt depressing especially knowing where it left off. The mc and him are still awkward like the tension is still there HOW???
Lastly I just want to say the climax of this story in my opinion was when the black hair confessed and the lead up to it. That left a huge impact on the mc to the point in which when the actual ml confesses he thinks about the black hair. Like that’s what set me off the most, those story beats felt like it was meant for A MALE LEAD. It just felt like the author got the roles switched last minute.
The art for this is so fucking good and both the characters are fine asf I have high hopes for this and I’m so glad there was a time skip I hope this doesn’t get a rushed conclusion I beg
