As a result, he believes he needs to protect his wins with rituals, even resorting to have sex with anyone before competitions.
Rituals that, although seemingly irrational, are part of their quest to control a possible tragedy. It's like a desperate way to calm their anxiety related to this superstition and prevent their fear of bad luck from affecting their performance.

I havent properly read this but from searching, I don’t think anything necessarily gross has happened. Its meant to be a silly wholesome story about a 10 y old trying to win over an 18 y old, but even saying that sounds strange to me. Its written in a light hearted way but I think they could make it less misleading, like the bl label and shota title which I think ppl associate w shotacon. At first glance it looks worse than it is, but still just knowing its romance involving a 10 and 18 y old really doesnt look good when you push your focus away from the ‘wholesome’ characters.
