It will be based on Sturgeon's law (it's a proverb stating that 90% of a given field/genre/hobby/profession is crap, but you stay for that 10% cause it's worth it) - which is so true for a genre like BL/yaoi. I haven't read a whole lot of yaoi like a lot of other veterans here who've been reading for like 10+ years...but I think I've read enough to make a connoiseur out of me. I've wanted to make a yaoi list for a long time anyway cause I'm a geek who likes to talk about their hobby and nerd out.
I'll be writing detailed reviews where I deem necessary for all the works I add to said list (without spoilers of course), with a mention of all TWs and themes/tropes/dynamics. Cause as much as I like the lists already on here made by you beautiful ppl, I still feel the need for a list specifically for nerds like me who like to read BL not just for the eye candy aspect but also for the underlying themes/motifs and their literary value.
I'll be making two different lists for manhwas and mangas because they're so different (what with them being products of two entirely different cultures) I can't bring myself to compare them.
It's a project that'll take a long time since I'll be re-reading and discovering new works along the way but I kinda wanna indulge myself. Oh, not to mention, the list will only have completed works that I personally liked (cause I know from experience how ongoing works can take a turn for the worse). So almost nothing will be boring/mid/black flag.
So...what say gang? I'll also be taking recs from anyone who's interested in giving their input! It'll be fun me thinks hehe
