Lmao the first time alicia and duke paddington appeared, i was prepared for the plot to be full of conflict and neverending schemes by them. I expected them to be a thorn to the emperor's side for a long time and it'd be really hard to get rid of them like many other villains in 'historical' BLs like this. I didn't expect them to be defeated so easily and in the most ridiculous ways like this, but hey, I'm not complaining since I don't really like complicated and long winding stories.
Also, I can't stop cackling at how unhinged all the people who work for the emperor are. Even the physician is crazy. I had tears in my eyes when he wanted to bust a hole through the duke's head 'just in case' even after he woke up lol. I guess it's given to turn this crazy when you've been working for a psychopathic emperor for years.
