I think there's nothing special about this plot – like, it's not bad, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a detriment to the manga... but it's just that I can't quite place what it is, here, that makes this such a unique read. Somewhere between the art, the pacing and the writing, the author managed to create an incredibly "fairy-tale-esque" feeling. It felt so... mysterious, in a way? Because truly, there is nothing that jumps out in any aspect of this as being outrageously magnificent or anything like that... but the entirety of the experience just comes together so, so beautifully. It truly felt like an experience from another world. Like you're legitimately reading a fairy tale. I can't quite put it into words, but, I loved this one a whole lot.
