lord i lovee me some introspective queer works... works that talk about comphet, works that explore queerness, especially in relation to womanhood. and indigo blue delivers it. its not gonna be everyone's cup of tea, and i certainly have issues with it, but if you want more experimental and less romance in a yuri, i recommend it 100%!!

beautiful yuri and it's about mermaids?? dream come true!! this work is mostly well constructed, with feminist commentary (always a positive) and the chemistry between the characters is sooo good!! you can feel how much they love each other. ofc, my main criticism, like most of the times is how we only get into the romance at the very end of the story i don't think this should stop you from reading this, its still a fantastic work!

i saw ppl complaining about the drama in the comments and like.... idk i love it so much if it wasnt for how well build the family plot is i probably wouldn't like this manga as much as this. it makes the characters complex and lived in. a lot of romance manga (especially yaoi manga) has super surface-level characters that dont feel like they have any substance besides the romance... like they only exist for the romance (which i know is the point of a romance story but it makes the characters super boring if you can't relate to them as humans and not just plot devices) yeah this author did a really good job at making the world and characters feel lived in lol
idk they arent that fleshed out. at least soyoung doesnt feel fleshed out... hyesun is fun tho i love how everyone hates her and she is absolutely clueless

rock it, girl! is pretty good. i will say, it leaves a bit to be desired. the concept and the characters carry the manga more than the story does, especially because some parts follow a non-linearity that reaaally does not work for it. however, it's a fun read! the writing is pretty shoujo manga campy in a good way. read it for fun!!

this one is pretty good if you ignore the almost 20 year age gap between the characters.... i know its not that consequential but it sure bothered me. that said, it still has a very beautiful way of telling it's story, the art is good and the world in which the characters live is full and realistic. so yeah! just... close your eyes when you read their ages....

this one isnt really my cup of tea, since the relationship takes a backseat to tell a story about goals and life which isn't bad, but at the end of the day i picked up a yuri, not a slice of life, you know? it's not all bad though and if you want girls saying vagueishly romantic things to each other but never actually getting together than you can enjoy this!

i like this manga! i wouldnt consider it a love story, but it is a story about lesbians and that is enough to me. the character arcs are emotional and impactful and the stories are super fun! at least to me (especially the coffe store owner's backstory... talk about toxic yuri!)
