There’s plenty of the same story with female mc, and honestly it’s not misandry, if you research the reason why these stories of trauma and abuse and sa are so popular with women you’ll understand why. Not saying it’s right, but it will help you understand why so many of these types of stories are written and consumed— similar in the way that true crime is so popular with women. I cant explain it that well cause I’m just not really good with words but in a basic sense it’s because unfortunately women and girls grow up in such a dangerous and scary world with real threats to us as a gender, that being able to read or write or watch content with these kinds of themes helps to almost expose themselves to that fear in a safe environment. Apparently it can help in that way if that makes sense? You’re reading and living through a traumatic thing that you constantly fear but doing so in a safe environment where there is no risk to you— and it makes that particular theme a little less scary I suppose. Not sure if this helps but yeah, do some research it’s very interesting and actually makes sense then

Sorry, here in eastern Europe it's mostly save both for women and men so me, and also my female friends who read yaoi, are rather pretty disturbed by this trope.
Not that I must to read it ofc but its usually that when I begin I want to finish to see how it ends. That's why I was unforunate to find this title here or No Reason... And a few other ones that do exacly the same

Sort of but I think it’s a bit more nuanced and complicated, I can’t really explain it right but I get that’s the basics. I think in countries where rape and abuse and misogyny is more common is where these tropes are more popular maybe? Not saying it’s all women just giving you the reason why a lot of women do like it. I just find it interesting. But of course, that doesn’t excuse this bad plot lol, or other bad plots, I guess that is kinda just laziness of the author?
