while reading, I kept thinking that the story felt familiar and in end, it clicked: Attack on Titan and Those Who Walk Away from Omelas.
and uhm still confused but... is the Miko ritual truly a thing? like it's actually effective, as in it is the true reason the fiends are kept at bay? I guess it does, right? because Souma's hair inexplicably became white and the girl turned into a fiend the moment Souma was sullied. i just thought it would be cool if the miko ritual was some sort of placebo effect, like the reason why the people in the village didn't just turn into fiends at whim is because they had the false sense of peace due to believing in the miko ritual.
i just finished reading the last chapters and this is really and truly, such a wonderful story. and you can tell that it was written with a lot of thought and kindness put into it. the author's note by the end made me up tear up.
i know the ending might seem a bit unrealistic in some ways, but these kinds of happy endings keep me alive. thank you to the person who uploaded this.
amnesia has got to be one of worst tropes out there. like i was expecting the conflict to be that hyo-un will regain his memory, start treating taehyuk like his previous lover and taehyuk would be hurt because it will seem like hyo-un only likes him cause he's the reincarnation of his sir... well, it seems to be that way but rn i'm just so annoyed with this whole amnesia thing.
all the development we had last season just... poof! or maybe i should just wait for the story to unfold.
am i tripping or is this like the first time we ever truly see them kiss??? like sure they did kiss a lot but its somehow always off-screen or we don't just see their faces when they do and now for the season to end with a panel of Garam initiating and... ouuuwwwh i'm crying
im so excited for season 3 aaaah i miss them already
