While the adopted brother really did dig his own grave, and making the mistake on his own by following the other person's plan, he still does not deserve to be beaten/abused like that. Just...let him go instead of beating him around. At least treat him humanly while locked in the room. The brother is a very hypocritical man. It's your fault the adopted brother became like that, from you spoiling him at every turn. The parents also have their own faults, but they didn't continue to spoil him like the brother does.
It's not like he asked to be adopted as a substitute for their child. They adopted him, so they should have taken responsibility by educating him properly. Better don't adopt if you're just gonna let your hands be free of the child.
