You’re free to think wtv you want but i just have to say this, tae sung will will always ALWAYS be better than fuck ass bitch ass black flags, first of all big bro has an actual conscious, at the start of their relationship tae sung LET soo young choose his own job, his own place, his way of paying off the debt he never CORNERED him into doing anything he didn’t like even when soo young was injured he stayed at tae sung’s place on his own free wil, after their first nasty argument tae sung APOLOGIZED for choking soo young and snapping at him and hey as much of a small apology as it was i’ll take it over the usual egotistical behavior that avoids confrontation and responsibility from red/black flag tops absolutely any day.
Now to address the elephant in the room: the confinement arc, tae sung did what he did and what he did was fucked up not only was he forcing himself on soo young when he was injured he kept dragging soo young’s misunderstanding ab his uncle’s death never fully explaining what happened to soo young and that his uncle wasn’t exactly a saint either (uncle was the one who drowned soo young’s father in debt and stole his bank book to runaway), in a way i think tae sung self sabotaged himself and wanted soo young to hate him bc of how much guilt he felt killing his uncle and also bc he didn’t feel like he deserved soo young, now stay with me here, the story never glorified nor excused or ignored tae sung’s behavior in fact he drove soo young away from him and was i swear when I’m telling you this he was planning to KILL HIMSELF because he felt that this was the only way soo young wouldn’t be in danger ever again while giving his last gift to soo young and that was his ankle surgery, (in a world were ankle breaking and crippling bottoms is romanticized tae sung genuinely wanted soo young to walk again and genuinely wanted the best for him.)
Honestly the best part ab all this was after everything tae sung told soo young specifically (if i ever tried to force myself on you i want you to bite it off) tae sung always wanted soo young to be more bossy and selfish, in the side story when soo young was getting more and more into rough sex tae sung made him create a safe word and drew some boundaries, shit was hilarious.
Conclusion: you are free to think wtv you want, you don’t have to love the manhwa or it’s characters I understand that it’s not for everyone, for me I absolutely loved how it handles conflict and regret, i think soo young and tae sung were rlly cute, others will still disagree and I understand i just can’t have ppl comparing tae sung to jaekyung or zhenya no thank you
