I’m pretty sure the reason for Kihoon’s bad luck is ‘cause Yeon forced the red string on him in their past life. So now Kihoon’s dealing with karma, it’s like he’s being punished for taking something that wasn’t meant for him, something that was actually meant for the girl.
Tho I don’t really get why Kihoon’s the one getting punished when it was Yeon who did it. But maybe Yeon’s punishment is Kihoon’s misfortune?(?)
What’s weird though is that whenever Kihoon’s with Yeon, all the bad stuff goes away and good things start happening to him. Like when he won that badminton match, or back in high school when he kept scoring goals in soccer just from “luck.” Kihoon’s teammates even talked behind his back saying he only wins because he’s lucky. But that was around the time he was already hanging out with Yeon? (Highschool flashback panels)
Then when Yeon leaves, bad things happen again. Like during graduation, like right after Yeon was heartbroken then decided to forget about Kihoon and never see him again. Then Kihoon and the soccer nationalscout guy who almost picked him for nationals both got hit by a car. People in chapter 18/19 even said it sucked ‘cause Kihoon could’ve gone to the nationals if it weren’t for the injury.
