Honestly the fact that most people don’t agree with her decision to not have kids or fall in love with the duke was actually shocking. Imagine how he’d be treating her without her doing that? Imagine if the aunt would’ve framed her without her contributions? Would they have defended her? Highly doubt it. Even when she got them out of debt he treated her badly, so I can understand why she feels the way she does. If she wasn’t pretty much their money mule, they would still be treating her like trash.
