I was reading this and wondered, where is the trauma? This second life should be from Aeroc's point of view, showing his struggles with trauma. Reading the first timeline and then the second from Kloff’s point of view, who knows nothing about the first life, feels like whitewashing the damage. It makes Aeroc’s abusive life seem like just a plot tool. The third life should be from Kloff’s point of view so we can see his regrets. I’m not siding with him, but emotional expression goes a long way. I’m reading one fanfic where we see both Kloff and Aeroc’s points of view, and it shows their struggles so well that you end up wanting Aeroc to heal, not to end up with his abuser just for the sake of happiness. Kloff is a total POS, but that fanfic shows his guilt and yearning so clearly that you can actually see him struggling. Anyway the novel is spot on but I can feel that kloffis author's favourite (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ
