Made me feel sick and angry reading the chapters about her upbringing. As the victim, it's up to her to forgive or not - an apology doesn't mean you have to be forgiven. Story doesn't underestimate how painfully traumatic and abusive her family is and portrays what it's like to live in a household with a golden child well.
