so as an act of friendship, there should be a token granted from the vampire, it can be a ring, necklace, bracelets, and etc... but in his case, he was sold at an auction... so his relationship to a vampire can be referred to as an ownership, in short, the vampire owns him....(in my own opinion) but as the story goes, their relationship had gone up to another level...
