The commenter already knows he did it out of worry but saw the deeper meaning behind it. Even if the uncle is worried, he still is going based off of what HE thinks is right. He never asked what the FL wanted. She’s stuck with them for so long for a reason, and he doesn’t consider that. He wants her safety without her opinion.
Plus ML doesn’t need to talk to FL, seeing as it’s super obvious what she has wanted and she’s willingly is by his side.
