I’m pretty sure with the way the background was drawn, (the breaking glass) that he’s just trying to ignore his very traumatic past to make his daughter happy.
Like he just recently started feeling more affectionate and wanting affection in return, he does not need to get pushed into making a baby for his daughters sake…. His face doesn’t even have a hint of embarrassment or excitement, just a ‘I have to do this for her.’ mindset.
