That feeling actually sucks tbh. I was once in Alec's shoes before, but unlike him I'm an introvert. So I tried befriending a classmate who's more introverted than me just because we share the same favourite anime. We hang out, I share stories and then I realized I was the only one making an effort. When I talk to him, I was the only one sharing my experience he'll kinda like just listen and nod. Like bro, I want to converse.
So I gradually distanced myself from him. I just came to my own conclusion that he really don't want to have any friends because when we graduate, he's still alone.
