damn I'm actually starting to root for him just a tiny bit. I don't know a ML in one of these kinds of stories who's put this much thought into reflecting and trying not to inconvenience the FL. He's not trying to stop her leaving either, just wants to find the way to be supportive and still get his feelings across. Good redemption arc!
