When they have to be better at EVERYTHING. Like the ml always has to be one step ahead and just slightly better at everything and it makes me so irrationally mad. Especially if the mc is supposed to be like an expert at whatever they're doing, but then the ml comes along and is just a lillll bit better. And I hate when they're cocky about it too li......
