It was a heartfelt chapter, really, and seeing everyone cuttin up in these comments is sweet but it also shows how duality is very real. While the step mom thought she was doing everything for MC with his best interest, it’s easy to see how his thought process was completely the opposite. Moving everything out of his biological mom’s room, having a new kid and abandoning him making their own family discarding him—communication is SO important even if and especially if they’re a kid. Idk this chapter hit me hard yea but more more so mentally than emotional cuz it was crazy and so sad seeing baby him confused, lost, and heartbroken at everything unfolding in his childhood and then rebelling when he got older.
Like I wouldn’t say his parents, especially the stepmom 100% failed him not at all but it’s just that so many things could have been avoided and he could have lived a much better and happier life if they just talked to him through decisions they made, and explaining things to him, so he didn’t spiral and overthink since he was a child. My heart I love MC so much I can’t.
