I got a pretty shitty background. And everyone grows up differently. I was really toxic before to the ones I loved and was a rebel to my family because of how they treated me before and never expressed or even told anyone how I felt. It happens naturally when someone with a harsh backgrounds that treat people trash. And I don't mean mean be mean but I literally couldn't express myself and resolved to being angry. 've changed the couple of years with the help of a new environment with friends and my family understanding me better. So you should understand that you can't become nice under a day but it takes years to find your true self and potential with the right kind of people. And he is developing more than you at least cause he has more empathy than you.

nah not you acting like you know me
btw, i wrote that comment as someone who used to be mean to others after dealing with some traumatic events so i think i can speak about this
character development exists, just not in his case. even as a former mean person, i can’t relate to him at all. a couple years back when i was i was grieving, going through some family stuff and mental health issues, i never used someone like he used the doc. thats just shitty. being cold and withdrawn can be justified, having trust issues can be justified, being angry and overthinking can be justified. but what he did? that can’t.
being mean isn’t justified either, but i can understand it. i went through that too, and many other people do as well. thats pretty normal, i’d say— turning to anger. but there’s a line between being mean because you don’t know how to deal with your emotions and using others for your own gain and being a hypocrite about it.
no matter how fucked up your childhood was, you don’t go using people for their body, throwing away gifts they have personally chosen for your birthday, and being that much of an asshole. and don’t say “everyone deals with trauma differently” because some acts can’t be justified. just because he went through some rough stuff doesn’t mean his actions can be forgiven. some things just can’t.
and the fact that he only threw a tantrum and started stalking doc after he left? he’s not sorry. he just misses the sex and doc working for him.
so, i stand by what i said: he’s a hypocrite. from a former mean person perspective.

being angry can somewhat be justified** shit sorry made a mistake there

btw, having a shitty childhood doesn’t mean you can treat others like trash :3!! there’s no character development, he’s just a hypocrite.
