I have the feeling that this is going in the direction of her being a psychiatrist. I might be wrong, but Arlington was shown to us as a very barbaric doctor. I might be wrong and he just disliked Ian (because he was dehydrating for his wife) and actively tried to make him worse, but she does seem to be on "treat them kindly"-train and she has a much more positive effect on her patients (allowing them a cigarette to feel better, giving them a new perspective to make sure they are less self-depricating. She came to my man John like "No depression for you my good sir"). I can see her actively challenge Arlington in his way s(because he is a dlck) and Ian being supportive.
I also have to say that nothing brings me more joy than Eric being the official cockblocker of Arlington. My dude has 360° vision and is tuned in to his future sister in law. My dude is on a mission and he won't rest until his brother has bagged wifey
