what did marius do?? like i need an explanation of why he's such a bad guy, like i get that he said edgar is basically a threat more than a brother to him but lowk he said that to leo, privately, and it's just unfortunate edgar overheard but isn't that a natural feeling if he was attacked by him in his past life? like is that all?
furthermore with regards to alice and the sisters, because they're trying to achieve their own goals for the lil mcs sake they're in a difficult position ya know foreign land and prejudiced people like the council and nobles. technically, the marriage is a business arrangement and transactional so when these things happen marius has no obligation to defend the girls right? and even if he wanted to cause he was trying to be nice, wouldn't that contradict alice growing her own power in the country without relying on him?
mind you, i don't particularly like marius, but idk i see no reason to hate him unless im missing something? he's never been malicious just cutthroat and objective at times, which is what id expect from a ruler ╮(￣▽￣)╭
