I never shipped Jooin and Cain. It's not that I hated Cain but I always knew he was just Jooins rebound and most times even in real life rebounds never get the love they desire. They're just treated as substitutes and to stall until the person rebounding them either gets back with the person the like or they move on to someone completely new. Cain was a filler for Jooin and not someone whose feelings were ever taken seriously. To me I'd confidently say that Cain was being emotionally abused but most fans especially Cain stans can never accept that. Sometimes I think y'all even hate him because seeing him be an emotional punching bag and still wanting him to be with someone that emotionally violates him is madness. Cain slept on the floor for months and y'all thought that was romantic. Who would let someone they like sleep on the floor? No one unless they don't like you and even if they are trying to be nice they can't bring themselves to like you. Cain starts to lose himself to the point of even wanting to cut off his only support system for something that isn't assured. It needed to end.
Before you deflect and talk about Yahwi and Jooin stop yourself. The success of both of these ships was never dependent on each other. The timeskip proves that, even with Yahwi out of the picture Jooin still didn't want Cain. This time he just had the courage to admit it and stand on it. Jooin was always the constant factor. Everything moved only when he moved. People act like it was Yahwis fault but really even Yahwi leaves of his own volition and still Jooin doesn't choose Cain. And this is before the timeskip. It was always Jooins choice and no one else. I will emphasize the point that Jooin acted like it was a competition between these two ships and which one would hold more weight but trying to strategize love is why so many people are failing at it. Trying to prove a point while hurting someone's feelings is just lack of empathy and emotional intelligence.
