I love that they could resolve things and communicate, but it still bothers me that hakyung didnt really said sorry or "forgive me" for all the situation... i know he was used too by yoonsung dad and all but he had so many oportunities to say the truth and save both of them all the suffering and waste of time... i dont know, i feel that yoonsung did all the work of resolving things and finding the lost pieces of the truth, that at some point it just looked so unfare that he was the biggest victim and was still the only one with balls to try and make things right...
I get you.. that's a perspective I've never thought about before but I find it hard not to agree. I want to believe that he's the true main character of the story and that what makes it so impactful and different. He beats the odds, he's determined, outspoken and sooo emotionally intelligent I love him. I also like that after being so desperate to get the money. The author still let hakyung's mom die. It was sad but he deserved a loss after everything yoonsung went through.
Hakyung never said sorry because he believed he never deserved to stay by Yoonsung's side, even as a nobody. He almost feels that this is his karmic punishment to fall in love with someone he can never have because of all the lies & deceit for money. He had countless opportunities when he was cosplaying jiyoung but still chose not to and when he did choose it was too late. You remember that scene when his mom finally died & he called Yoonsung? He couldn't speak even when he wanted to because he probably feels he doesn't deserve Yoonsung's affection/love. I feel like his cowardice is in a way quite endearing because not everyone gets to apologise in life & a sorry doesn't fix anything (I feel like I get his perspective). This is just my opinion & interpretation
