The story telling is actually really good. You have to just think that Hyunsoo is very very insecure. Once you learn about his mom (which will be in the 50s), you'll understand. It all starts to make sense. He needs someone who's more stubborn than him to get under his skin into his more vulnerable side. But someone who's warm like Youngchan.
They find their way to show affection and heal. Especially the former. Their communication does get better and better. It's a stumble after stumble. But they get there.
