While the story portrayed here is cute and heartwarming, it's just that: a story. It should stay that way.
Aside from all that:
It's a very cute story, which I've treasured for years.
I was honestly thinking the same thing. As much as I love the story and keep coming back, I cant help but think how unsettling this can be in a realistic setting. I cant imagine myself falling for a teacher let alone a teacher falling in love with the underage me. It’s a little too uncomfortable when you stop romanticizing it.
So I bit the bullet and bought all 4 volumes. It's absolutely worth it. 10/10.
Seriously. If you want a dark & twisted story with twists and turns....this is it.
