Ngl i'm more curious to know what monster Mugo was looking behind that opened door. As for the red eye, I'm thinking it's the evil snake spirit that's merged with Mugo when he was sealed. Old Mugo was more perceptive when it comes to energy and spiritual related things so ofc he was always the first to notice
