Not to be ummm a party pooper here lmao, this such a fun and unique concept only to be wasted on constant smut

    Iloveksoo July 18, 2025 7:54 am

True but atleast the smut hot

    Anaa July 18, 2025 8:16 am

    Agreed

    mamoru July 18, 2025 12:03 pm

1% plot, 99% filler smut that makes zero sense and is honestly so graphic it's kinda gross... I'm too sane to keep reading this

Jac July 16, 2025 12:18 am

Can anyone try to convince me to continue reading ts. Like why the bottom look like dat. Also the top is cringe affff, why he crashing out like someone died cause his housewife twink went out.

    Sumyii9 July 18, 2025 7:46 am

The size difference is just....im sick of seeing bottoms get so like...cringe? Like in the first chapter I didn't get why he'd wear that half hoodie showing his belly button in that situation

Jac July 15, 2025 11:50 pm

Hell naahhhh bro I wanted to try reading ts cause its the same artist of 'man in the mirror'. I fell in love with that manhwa for it's incredible story and art (and trying to heal from the fact it got discontinued). Somehow it downgraded with this. Tbh idk if artists are just getting paid to adapt authors' novels into manhwas and dont really get to choose so I don't wanna criticize the artist too much.

    asmiir_ July 16, 2025 8:10 am

No they choose it. The PD or manager pitches work to the artist and they’re often sent a edited or original version of the work and they decide if theyd like to adapt the work

Byeeee, all hate goes to the author AND artist then

Man in the mirror? Is that the one about the futuristic Chinese military with androids? The top had ptsd cause a hacker named "kid" programmed their androids to kill everyone?

Jac June 12, 2025 10:58 pm

Btwww guys take note of the part of him saying "you've ruined my plans" in the latest chapter (ch. 41). This is only the tip of the iceberg in this story

    anacriss June 21, 2025 3:00 am

Yess omg I haven’t read the novel but when I saw that I was like yess finally some insight!!

Is this not because MC was rude to those opera people ML took him to meet?

Jac June 12, 2025 3:14 pm

I saw bunch of comments from before I read the manhwa to see if it's good. I did start reading the manhwa, then read the novel cause I got impatient lol.

And like I don't understand why r y'all complaining about the fact that the MC and the ML are sick in their own way. It's a psychological, are y'all not reading the tags. If I'm being honest I think the way these characters were written is brilliant.

The MC not being the innocent UwU weak and emotionally fragile and is instead someone who has APD and morally grey, something new from lit hundreds of BLs (that y'all can read if this story isn't your taste). ML is the real psychopath in this story, like seriously the fucking master manipulator who managed to manipulate someone who supposedly doesn't gaf abt most things.

ML is especially smart in the way he manipulates the MC to the point that MC actually grows the gut to shift from his indifference. This is what makes a good psychological story. It really forces u to be on the side of a controversial character. Its not like killing stalking by all means (this manhwa is more tame than killing stalking), but the story really brings out contradicting feelings (atleast to me anyway lol)

Can someone who is emotionally numb and nihilistic be a tragic victim in a story?

Is it possible for the MC to be redeemed in the end?

It's easy to see in different perspectives when you ask yourself questions like these before you hate the very elements of a psychological story that makes a psychological story.

To be clear, I don't get off to the MC getting fucked by his abuser. The toxic relationship can be seen as romanticized and I don't like it. I especially don't like the darkest twist in this story (not going to spoil it but this part of the story made me almost drop it.). So don't come for me saying I like this manhwa cause I fetishize rape and manipulation. I absolutely hate it, which is part of the psychological aspect of the story. It's disturbing and twisted.

It's an above average read (if u get past all the smut)

A bl manhwa worth being on a psychological genre shelf IMO.

i agree. i want to have a lot of faith in the manhwa, because i was very intrigued by the premise and character building at least initially. i love morally ambiguous characters, and the dynamics between them are incredibly interesting and thought provoking. i like to see this entire story as biased from haewon's point of view - an approach so apathetic and casual to his relationships that they're arguably cruel - yet slowly, inevitably, falling for a very manipulative, toxic, and aggressive man who is most likely responsible for taeshin's death. while wujin initially appeared unwelcome, hostile, creepy, and dangerous, slowly his behaviors are more romanticized and presented as something desirable. i really really hope this is actually intentional in the sense that that numb and nihilistic haewon has a very skewed perspective of relationships and people, and less to skim over the toxic traits of wujin in order to develop a "BL-typical" romance.
while i have my gripes with the manhwa so far, i love the buildup and how tension is so meticulously created. i like seeing the cracks of wujin's demeanor slip in the midst of this "romance" haewon subconsciously believes is being developed, demonstrating that wujin is, in fact, an abusive creep no better than the other clingy and controlling (and rapist) men haewon has interacted with. i am so interested in seeing haewon further developed and fleshed out, figuring out his motivations, backstory, and his flaws that he can't escape. we know he is a very very shitty friend - and yet can we sympathize with him? as the story progresses, we slowly slip away from being critical of haewon into being guided by his perspective, opinions, and desires.

WOOOW, this was so well said. I rlly enjoyed reading your reply!! You described this manhwa perfectly in a way I can't even explain myself. We share a lot of the same thoughts about the story, which makes me so glad there's someone else who reads this BL more for its unique story rather than just another gooner material on this site. Everything you loved about it—I loved it too!

I really wanna know what happens next, it's so sad to see the artist dropping this because of backlash. This srsly would have became my no.1 bl manhwa because of how much effort and passion the story has to it. The characters, the world building, all tickling me in the right way lmaooo anyway ya. Pls send me a link or lmk if there's book I can buy in english

Lot of people here may not like the uke but I actually like how the uke is unique and flawed. (Get ready for a yappathon ↓)

Despite the uke's best efforts, he always falls back and in the end just seeks whatever he wants (sex, playing the violin). He's not completely nihilistic, there were a few instances but one was that there were hints that deep down he actually cared about his friend (even if it was only slight) and held back against the top because he was his friend's crush. Still his flaws outweigh whatever good he has. It makes the uke realistic really and that's what made me interested in the story (but the uke DID give in which pissed me off so much). Now I don't like the top tbh, he's the typical alpha male who seeks dominance but the dude actually knows how to control himself (not saying this is positive, he's still creepy a dude) and really shows how smart he is. Typical tops would've just fuckd the bottom first day of meeting but not in this one, the top wants the uke to want him first. (Bro is a playboy tho, and did the same to the bottom's friend) still a shit top and all I can say Abt him tbh lmao.
