The MC Miharu has the power to fulfill the wish of one person. He asked his friend Yoite which his wish is. And Yoite says he wants to disappear. Miharu asks if he wants to die and Yoite says No, he wants his existence to vanish as he had never existed and no one had remembered about him.
Unfortunately Yoite has the power of killing any person he points with his finger so he has killed a lot of people (a lot). Also he had a very sad story in general where he was manipulated by others. So I understand why he wants to disappear.
Even the ending of the anime there is a lyric that says "In the pouring rain, you were left alone. And even though you noticed, you didn't care.
The anime and manga end in a bittersweet note. But it always made me sad how the character of Yoite was, even he hurt people, I wanted him to have a different fate. I noticed it was impossible to have a happy ending after all the pain he caused.

So, After my mind remembered that anime. The hounds of Sisyphus has a similar character who has killed a lot of people but we don't know about his past. But in chapter 11. Guwon doesn't remember his past and asks Teach for his comfort if his memories are unbearable painful. So there is foreshadowing that his past is unbearable painful. I wonder if Guwon is manipulated in some way by others who told him the lie to protect the town from the moon rock. Who gave him that crazy idea after he was created or experimented on??? I think someone lied to him. And I think it will have a similar ending as the manga I described before. Guwon being killed but being freed from the burden of protecting the town. End of my thoughts.
