I want to make it clear, in real life, I would NEVER forgive a rapist. But this is fiction, and as a reader, I have no control over what happens in the story.
The characters can’t take accountability because they’re not real people. That’s why I think it’s important not to equate fictional depictions of SA with real-life experiences, doing so can actually be hurtful to survivors
Zhenya’s assault and abuse of Taekjoo in the story is part of the plot, not reality. Comparing that to an actual SA case is harmful because it erases the difference between fictional narratives and the real trauma survivors go through.
Why should the noncon be sexualised? Are you seriously saying you are attracted to rape? This scene does nothing for the plot, it instead feeds the hate the fujo community recieves when ppl say bl writers have gross rape fetishes. If your story is going to have noncon, at least treat it like it’s a problem and don’t sexualise it. Being raped is scary. Point blank period. If your not going to portray it as it should be and instead take the side of the rapist and find JOY in what should be Taekjoo’s pain, then you should be on some kind of list.
I agree with @Shazz. Plus you can see that there is an undeniable indifference when it comes to rape involving grown men compared to incest or child rape when it’s “part of the plot”. And that just proves that rape if sexualized/normalised and that is very hurtful for ppl who experienced that in real life

Shounen ai is for kissing and soft stuff. Yaoi is sex and smut is like no plot. Its like watching a show because its labeled a certain way and then finding out its different genre. Its a good manga but a bit disappointing
