It's not. Lucifer clarified it himself to Michael, he only said that to Turner so turner wouldn't overthinking things as time is running for Shahar. He didn't mean to take Turner's soul, but he meant it when he said he'd revived Shahar.

It's not the main character getting abused it's the people that the MC took over... Like john doe got abused and "as a consequence" MC got in their bodies for revenge. Is it clearer for you or not ?
