Not the worst take I have read here imo, but this one user said in opposition to f/m readers who were deriding BL authors, they preferred to read BL because they were sick of seeing rape and fetishization of women in f/m works. What that implies is they didn't want to see women being raped and brutalized but were totally hunky dory with seeing men ...... reply
Okay since no one is talking about this, I will. Sex is not something extraneous to romantic relationships. It is an organic part of relationship, it's not only for procreation. Sex helps strengthen the bond between lovers and gives them physical and emotional release. It makes the body feel good, compounds the emotional bonding and releases pent u...... reply
Well i mean look at the content available on these sites, they will inevitably draw all kinds of weirdos and trolls. That's no justification of course and you are right about them, but what really baffles me is how much women play into all this talk. I have only interacted with BL readers, who are mostly women and holy shit, the manner in which the...... 1 reply
They aren't strong. They are badly written characters written by authors who have sex fetishes and some very therapy worthy issues. After reading a certain amount of BLs, it becomes pretty clear most of these authors have never spoken to a gay man, that's how unrealistic and asspull their writing is. Call a rape, rape, not 'grape'. Or . I doubt this is a place where someone will censor a word like rape, why reduce the gravity of the word such as rape by calling it something that is nowhere related to it? Like thanks for ruining one of my favourite fruit. Rape is literally the most ubiquitous of writing elements in most of these manhwa's, mangas etc. that you read on these sites, it's fucking everywhere. Call it what it is, this ain't twitter. People will literally talk about the craziest shit about sex, violence and weird ass fetishes on these sites but calling rape rape is suddenly too problematic. Call it what it is, don't minimize the meaning and implications of the word by calling it something it is NOT.
