If I remember correctly, MC was trying to escape and pushes Black hair causing him to hit his head and die, Red hair shows up and takes MC back to his house.
My interpretation was that Red hair thinks that now that Black hair is out of the way, he can get with MC, but in reality, MC is completely traumatized by the experience, he starts to draw the same art Black hair did, with dead eyes, so even if Red hair "saved" him, his mind is still with black hair
