with the extra chapters' release, i took the chance to re-read the whole thing again and i gotta say with the exception of maybe one or two little things, this is really great. nothing award-winning, but definitely worth a read if you're tired of the usual yaoi rape slop. the isekai premise makes it interesting, the balance between subverse specific topics and relationship building is good so that it never feels boring nor meticulous, the dom not being insufferably dominant made him likeable, the misunderstanding was tolerable and gave their relationship just the right amount of yearning and tension, the resolution was quick, painless and satisfying! the only thing i narrowed my eyes at, and i realize this is nit-picking, is when the dom used commands on the sub without consent to show him how dangerous that can be. i understand why the artist/author handled it this way but it's just something i personally don't like.

sighhhhhh another plot with potential ruined by an unnecessarily rapey sex scene. the setup with the bottom suggesting the sex was a good way to start but then it fell off with the top's reaction to the suggestion and in general how the whole thing was handled. like.... this was so close to being okay, not optimal but okay, if only the top had shown an ounce of consideration for the bottom by releasing his arms or asking "you really okay with this?"

it's interesting how many people turn away from this because of the creepy old man (maybe exploitation?) trope. i guess i haven't been exposed to much of it, or perhaps i have a penchant for it, because i think it adds a litte spice and mystery here lol -- assuming it's not non-con. the dub-con aspect of it is the only gripe i have with it atp. since we don't get a look inside yesung's thoughts at all, his behavior when being fingered is too ambiguous to say with certainty if he's disgusted or if he enjoys it. he comes off as promiscuous so i wouldn't put it past him that he does enjoy it if that makes sense? maybe, as opposed to this being a one-sided exploitation thing, he actually likes or liked the old guy? then again he's anxious about gyeol leaving any marks during their steamy encounters and about the old guy finding out, so there clearly is something dark lurking around the corner. sure we all know where and how this is gonna end in the long run, but i think it's too soon to judge their relationship. either way there must be a reason why yesung didn't clock him in the face when being touched. whether he didn't actually want to or couldn't, i'll just wait and see how this plays out. if it's the typical exploitation/blackmailing/non-con relationship, then i'll gladly put on the clown shoes.
