Because this is one of the very few that actually portrays trauma and its consequences realistically, and somehow y’all still manage to miss every single point. Yeah, it’s a little ambiguous,if you’re reading with your brain unplugged.
Look at Jiho. How is he acting? Indecisive, messed up, desperate, vulnerable ,clinging to anything that resembles love. And why? Because that’s exactly what trauma survivors do, especially ones who grew up with childhood abuse, grooming, and SA. But half of you aren’t ready for that conversation, because it requires actually understanding nuance instead of skimming for drama.
He’s traumatized. He’s imperfect. He's hurting others. He’s reacting like someone who’s been shattered and never given a chance to heal. And somehow y’all still cry, ‘Why is he doing this?’ ‘Why is he doing that?’ Like...that’s literally the author portraying long term trauma responses. The avoidance, the attachment issues, the self-destruction, the confusion,it’s all intentional. Even his facial expressions are drawn to show specific emotional states, but half the comment section is too busy whining to notice.
You want the trauma to be ‘more obvious,’ ‘more explained,’ ‘more spelled out.’ How else do you want it delivered,annotated with footnotes? Highlighted like a textbook? Should the author stop the plot every two panels to give you a TED Talk on psychology?
If you think you could write and explore trauma better, please, step up. Show us your masterpiece. Because until then, maybe stop complaining about a story you clearly don’t understand.
I think people spend too much time thinking about what THEY would do rather than from the position of someone with the kinda context Jiho and Yujun have.... like someone with greater understanding of such nuances. Also the fact that if everything went according to how the comments say it should be, the core conflict of this story would be removed....a problem that might be answered by the fact that I fear many readers here might be actual CHILDREN who are consuming this sort of stuff a little TOO EARLY in the first place . The comments read like they want everything hand fed to them and made really obvious which absolutely reeks of inexperience, either they consume shi really shallowly OR they're kids and/or have absolutely nothing to base the stories experiences on which makes them inclined to be confused when a character does something that isn't inherently good. That's that.

They’re definitely either kids or so privileged that they’re completely out of touch with reality, or they’re reading this kind of story for the very first time. And honestly, I’m sure they would’ve complained no matter which direction the plot took. The same kind of comments were seen on Hate Mate (another masterpiece by the same author) while it was ongoing. I swear, too much porn has fried their brains to the point they can’t think outside the box when they read anything.
I am in no way critisizing jiho like what? His reactions to everything is normal and expected to a degree even maybe stop beinng a fucking idiot and acutally think about what a comment is implying? Jiho is vulnerable yes but I hate the way the author has written the people around him especially when we an clearly hear him getting assaulted on the phone he didn't even tjnk to help his oh so beloved partner but rather chose to blame him and was suprised when he came to find out that oh Jiho was waiting, he was showing clear signs of abuse and trauma Jiho's trauma is not handled and is tjust exists like a boat drifting from one point to another
It really boggles me when people cannot take crtisim to a story they like and go forth on saying 'oh oh if you hate it so much write your own' as an avid reader I have seen hundreds even thousands of better written trauma handeling stories by minors so is it wrong for me to expect some from a famous author? You may not agree with my take which is fine you are entitled to your opinion but it's funny how personal you got wirh it. Maybe take your own advice and look into yourself sounds like you have a lot of truma to heal
