These days I'm reading a famous book that I think inspired the author of this manhwa to create Richard's character. It's Venus in Furs by Leopold Von Sacher-Masoch, the author's name later got used to officially create the terms sadism and masochism btw. Richard looks so much like the main character. They both want to be the slave of a hot dom, and wish to get badly hurt by her. The more they get hurt and enslaved, the more they'll feel fulfilled and in love. They also have a strong pride yet won't hesitate to put themselves in danger to get mistreated by the dom they toxically obsess over. The book is inspired by the author's own experiences and is such a well-know reference in early bdsm studies that I'm pretty sure Richard is inspired by it
