using "i tried my best" and "its all google translate" in the same sentence is like saying someone who makes "art" using solely AI is a real artist

They just wanted the other readers to have the possibility to read the new chapters. It’s a hassle translating from a language you don’t know with google translate and they had done it for us. Personally, I think it’s pretty well translated, I’ve read much worse and I believe the translator deserves appreciation either way for the work they put(๑•ㅂ•)و✧

idc enough to reply to you all individually, but literally anyone can use google translate and come up with the bare minimum intentions by what it produces. there are apps that can automatically translate entire pages. im not going to praise this behavior when it encourages others to try their hand at their own half-assed translations and then have it be passed by actual translators & translation groups because they presume the project is being taken up by someone whos familiar with the process and original language to properly project the story being told.

I think it stops being only an opinion when you use it to insult someone (the translater)
The fact of the matter is that someone has done a good service, unasked yet appreciated, and here you are being negative and disrespectful and ungrateful. ESPECIALLY by comparing their efforts to AI "art".
Seriously, it's like badmouthing your colleague or classmate who cleared the litter from the tables

sorry but no, its not that serious actually. not a personal attack on their character, not calling them a bad person, and i don't fucking know them for this to be compared to insulting a damn colleague for doing public good (please touch grass if you think your example of picking up litter is comparable).
its more so a criticism of trying to equate google translate to that of the efforts and accuracy of actual translation work. i didn't read it because i don't really think its worth reading, so why should i be grateful for it. if you lot find subpar and potentially inaccurate google translated manga sufficient to your standards, then my singular comment should not rile you guys up this much. downvote it and save yourselves the trouble and move on lol. spend your time instead uploading your own versions of crappily machine translated manga with dubious literary accuracy to the author's true intent and act like you've done the equivalency of community service.

I don't think you fully understood the point of what we're trying to comunicate to you. This translator was not paid to do the translation, as they said they're not even a translator, they just did it because they found a full translation and wanted the other readers who wanted to read the next chapters to be able to do it. They cleaned it, then rewrote and adjusted all the dialogues, I wouldn't even think they had used google translate if they hadn't said so themselves because the grammar and flow of the dialogues is all so good, even better than most official translations. But that isn't the point, they have done an excellent job, but even if that wasn't the case, it would still be something to appreciate because they only did to do us a favor. They weren't obliged to do it, but they wanted to do it and so I'm grateful. You're right everyone can use google traslate but not everyone can use it properly and they did, they put so much effort without getting anything back as none is paying them and they don't deserve backlash. You're right you're not straight up insulting them but you're surely diminishing their actions, compering them to AI's artwork, which we very well know that's more of a copying algorithm than anything else. I don't know what do you expect by an illegal site with free readings but I'm not trying to insult you, just wanted to defend the translator because if I had been the one to translate the chapter I would have felt hurt by your comment, I hope you understand ლ(´ڡ`ლ)

well i *know* that much of what i'm trying to communicate to you all is fully being lost on most of you unfortunately. so i guess im interested enough to reply.
you don't need to be a translator or even to be at a translator's level to have enough basic understanding of both the source and target languages to provide a better/more accurate interpation of the original text than google translate. i had something written out here about how there's no reason to give backpats for deciphoring the meaning from the gibberish that google translate spits out as this gives you the textbook definition of the words in a sentence thats void of all the context of it being used in the story, but low and behold with more research and i discover that the "translator" is literally just using deepL translate and copying the result LINE BY LINE. no alterations. i'm sitting here with the french translations and snipping tool on my pc feeding it into deepL translate right now. 30 seconds per page. they have/are doing NOTHING of actual effort lmao.
and "can't even notice that its google translated" even though it reads like dogsh!t with one of the worst font choices possible is laughable to me, as unless you're just glazing over the text while you're "reading" or English is not your first language, its *really* obvious that its machine translated with its clumsy and awkward phrasing. one line has them saying they have "temporary visibility" in a white out snowstorm after soo-ya just said that they COULDN'T see in the previous panel on the same page. like ????
i don't care if the "translator" is hurt by what i said. part of being on the internet is coming to the realization that people can critique your low effort content if you put it up publicly for people to see. piracy or not though, i didn't know that expecting the translator to know the language they're trying to translate was too high of a standard to have. my bad for that i guess?
noooooo i don't want angst
