Seed and essence are what creates a new life.. As both Seth and Osiris are men, they can't give birth to a new life (body and soul).. but Osiris wants a child with Seth since Seth believes a child is the proof of love between a couple and also bcz Osiris himself thinks a child (biological) is needed to shackle Seth to him, to make Seth bind to Osiris..

And even though Osiris is the God of life and death, he doesn't have the power to creat any body or soul,, he can just control the existing souls and seeds..

Now back to the point, Osiris steals Seth's seed so that Seth can't make children with his wife.. then Osiris trades his 'seed' (reproductive ability of a man) in exchange for 'essence' (reproductive ability of a woman) with Nepthys and Anubis is born.. Osiris watches how much Seth loves Anubis..Now that Osiris has the essence to create a new body and also a soul (Anubis's soul), he plans to inject the 'essence' into Seth to make him able to conceive Osiris's baby (make an artificial womb or sth!) and give that child Anubis's soul and thus create a new life, a child of their own and afterall make Seth tied together with him forever by their child..

but, does he actually go through with it? because that part is really confusing to me,

it looks like anubis' body just heals when isis is standing over him with a knife, but idk who knows how that god-magic stuff works? i read that mjito said that she isn't gonna do mpreg, but idk if that just means like, no actual pregnant seth, or if it means that anubis just got his soul back and that osiris changed his mind or whatever?

It was Osiris's plan whatsoever.. though he was almost about to make that into reality but he failed as you can see Seth killed and threw him to duat..
It's not mpreg until that plan were to come into reality.. as Seth never conceived it's clearly not an mpreg..
