It is. i think i saw some comment explaining that the chapters with the kid(Potato) growing up crushing over his adopted father, or that seem to push boundaries is just a fan service? but it's not relevant in the main story? So you can ignore those chapters.
i feel like the reason why some people and even the author ship them because of the chemistry of the character design, ignoring the familial relationship (that's what i hope ig)
also as the person above says, it's one-sided. uncle doesn't show any interest in that kind of development.
